Ministry Partners Kyrgyzstan
transforming lives in Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgystan is a poor and mountainous country with a predominantly agricultural economy. The collapse of the USSR has meant much suffering for the local population. CNEC's partnerships in Kyrgyzstan began in 2003. We work to strengthen local Christian partners who are involved in ministry to those marginalized by social and economic factors.
Since the introduction of the Restrictive Law on 12 January 2009, we are limited with our support and partnerships with the Kyrgyzstan Church Network (KCN). We are praying for open doors in the near future to continue with the church ministries in this beautiful and mountainous country. We covet your continued prayerful support for our Kyrgyz ministry partners.
We currently have four ministry partners in Kyrgyzstan. Children have been direct victims of the economic downturn, many being orphaned or abandoned by parents who cannot afford to care for them. Since 2006 we have supported 42 children to receive education and care through our SAC program. From 2008 we have been strategically assisting our partners to innovate and develop various self-supporting projects.
HH Children's Centre (HHCC)
We first began this partnership in 2007. Through strong support from our Australian partners, we have assisted HHCC to build a 2-story centre with indoor heating, toilets and spacious rooms for 10 to 14 children. We are also supporting a livestock breeding and sale business to generate sustainable income.
K Foundation (KF)
We have supported Sister V, in her AO Centre since 2006. Her simple yet clear vision has been to provide street children with a loving environment in which to grow and receive an education. With CNEC's assistance, K Foundation was successfully registered as a local NGO in 2008. We currently provide operational costs and support for an income generating farming project.
Y Foundation (YF)
Our partnership began in 2007 with a SAC program to support children in KB Family Shelter. We have encouraged the development of a carpentry and auto repair business to provide training and employment for the teenage boys.
Yssyk-kul Community Development Centre (YCDC)
There are numerous NGOs operating in Kyrgyzstan, many arriving after independence from the Soviet Union. YCDC was registered as an independent local NGO in January 2008. Their purpose is to compassionately improve the quality of life for the people of north-eastern Kyrygyzstan. They focus on community development through training and development of self-help groups.
CNEC Partners International works alongside our national partners to help them bring relief and development to their own people. We are grateful for your continued prayers and support of these ministries. See details of Short Term Teams to Kyrgyzstan.
