Philippines, Philippine Missionary Fellowship (PMF)
transforming lives in the Philippines
The Philippine Missionary Fellowship (PMF) has a vision to take the Christian Gospel to the many thousands of village communities throughout the Philippines which still do not have an evangelical witness. Around 43% of the country’s population of 83 million live in such rural areas. Included are the 180 unreached people groups living as tribal clans in mountainous regions. The majority of villagers in the lowlands are subsistence farmers or fishermen. These villagers live in difficult-to-reach areas where poverty is endemic and literacy levels are below the national average. PMF serves both mountain dwellers and low-landers and also pioneers in areas where Muslim extremists are active.
PMF ministries include practical projects especially in needy rural areas. Workers demonstrate their faith by establishing non-profit organisations such as schools, clinics and orphanages. These enable PMF workers to be a transforming presence and influence within the community.
