UPDATE ON MYANMAR DISASTER

Further to my report yesterday, we are mobilizing our co-workers from other parts of Myanmar to help with the relief work in a larger scale.

Our staff in Singapore will also be going in once the visa application is opened. Rev Paul Chang who had applied his visa 3 weeks ago will be leaving for Yangon tomorrow to view the situation and render his help in counseling and advising.   Communication is still inaccessible to the country and our national co-workers have been calling us to update on the situation there.

We just received news from Yangon Bethel Home that the children in the orphanage and building are not affected, however Rev Pun and Nawni Duma’s home was slightly damaged and many of their church members’ homes were destroyed.

Please join us to pray on the followings:

1)       Pray for the relief team (our national co-workers) especially Pastor Cha and Pastor Thein for wisdom, health and strength.

2)       Pray for journey mercy and health for Rev Paul Chang.

3)       Pray for the suffering families and also the country.

4)       Pray for a smooth election of the referendum.

5)       Praise God that so far we did not hear our national co-workers and the children in the Grace Haven Homes were injured.   Y

Yours in Christ Rev James Lai
