Kenya, Peace Makers Fellowship

transforming lives in Kenya

Pastor Paul Dondoh is a dynamic high school teacher who also leads a church planting ministry, Peace Makers Fellowship, in Central Kenya. Paul saw the need for second and third generation church attendees to have access to relevant Gospel material. He had been given the South African edition of the “Challenge” evangelical newspaper, and asked if it could be reproduced in Kenya.

Introduced to CNEC/PI by Carl Carmody of Challenge Literature Fellowship in WA, Paul oversaw a print run of 7 editions, at 10,000 copies each, during 2006 and has continued on throughout 2007 and 2008 . The content is provided by “Challenge” South Africa and the proofs modified to fit into the Kenyan situation. Printing is arranged in Nairobi and volunteers from PMF Kenya distribute the newspapers by bicycle or on foot.

As a Christian broadsheet, “Challenge” appeals to active Christians and nominal church goers alike. Feedback has been positive. Dozens of testimonies of repentance and turning to God through faith in Christ have followed each edition of the newspaper. Twelve months after the first edition, Pastor Dondoh has inaugurated the fourteenth church plant under the banner of PMF Kenya, which is based in Nakuru, 160 km from Nairobi, in the famous Rift Valley.

With the ethnic violence erupting in 2008, Paul's ministry has expanded to the care of IDPs in the Nakuru area.

You can provide bicycles and Bibles for Paul's team of volunteers through our Harvest of Hope on-line catalogue.
