Ministry Partners China
transforming lives in China
China is home to one of the world’s longest continuous civilizations with a rich heritage of art, architecture and language. It’s a land of picturesque rural landscapes, crowded urban cityscapes and captivating beauty – from the windswept plains of the Gobi desert and the notorious northern face of Mt Everest to volcanic crater lakes. With more than 1.3 billion people, China is the most populated nation on earth. Since the cultural revolution, China has changed vastly. Today’s China is characterised by a growing economic prosperity, access to modern technology, a huge shift in urbanisation of rural villagers seeking work in the cities and a widening gap between the 'haves' and the 'have-nots'.
Our partners work in 27 of the 31 provinces in China – from densely-packed urban cities to poor rural villages; in mountainous terrain through to flat, unforgiving landscapes. We seek to assist them to fulfil their vision for their people.
